Security Management Services (SMS) Ltd were asked to assist with a project at a secondary school in Wokingham, who wanted to offer one of their students more independence when using the disabled WC. As this facility had a traditional manual locking mechanism, the student was unable to access and exit the area without assistance. The school wanted to automate this room, with the ability to link into their existing Impro access control system. This would enable to student to have their own proximity card, allowing them to swipe in and out of the WC without supervision.
We were thrilled to be chosen to carry out the work during half term; with the help of our approved door automation contractor. The project was completed as cost effectively as possible, utilising an existing redundant reader located in another section of the school. We were so pleased to be given the opportunity to increase the independence of one their students, along with offering the school a modern yet simplistic access control solution.
